Community and Belonging
We often talk about ‘reintegration’; the reality is that a lot of people who pass through the criminal justice system were left behind by society long before they were sentenced. Whether they were let down in the care system, victims of abuse, or dealing with homelessness, many marginalised individuals find themselves being sentenced. If the criminal justice system exists to protect and support everyone in society, it is vital that we all feel welcome, and valued within our communities. This work touches on the themes of community and belonging.
