Lucy Cathcart Frödén
PhD Candidate
Institution: University of Glasgow
Lucy Cathcart Froden is a PhD candidate based at the University of Glasgow and working closely with Vox and other community organisations. Her research explores the potential of music-based initiatives (like songwriting projects and choirs) in social integration, particularly among people with convictions and people seeking asylum. She has been involved with Vox for a number of years as a freelance musician and is excited to combine this with a research role within the Distant Voices team. Lucy has a particular interest in collaborative songwriting, and is currently working on an album with input from the neighbours in her tenement close, funded by Creative Scotland and due to be released in 2018.
