Dr Jo Collinson Scott is a Lecturer in Commercial Music and a practice-led researcher in the field of popular music songwriting. She performs and records under the name Jo Mango and as such she has toured internationally (sharing stages with artists such as David Byrne) and her songs have featured on radio, TV and film around the world. Her previously community-based research includes the AHRC funded projects ‘Fields of Green’ – addressing climate change through songwriting with musical communities – and ‘Listening to Voices’, a project working with voice-hearers to understand how creative listening can help us become more attuned to voices that were previously marginalised, repressed or ignored.
