21st August 2024 ‘There’s A Lot to Hope for’ is a short film about utopian ideas presented through songs raising questions of justice. The songs and video content draws from the experience of Vox Liminis ‘Unbound community’ and was developed through a series of creative strategies and conversations with people from across Scottish society. This artwork reflects absurd notions of justice and the importance of creative communities that offer hope and nurture speculative imagination. Each of the videos in the film represents an experience of the justice system. The process has highlighted the limitless potential of collaboration and the power of ideas– utopian, dystopian or a bit of both. Over the coming weeks we will spotlight some of the artists involved in the process and gather their thoughts on ‘There’s a lot to hope for’. ‘Cracking mix of fun, fury and thought provoking’ ‘Short stylish and humorous’ “Brilliant and moving’ Viewer comments from premier screening at GFT Feel free to share, show and send us comments on the film and any issues it may raise to laura@voxliminis.co.uk Content warning: Strong Language and references to detrimental impact of justice system on individuals and families.
