What If My Best Isn’t Good Enough
In 2014 we teamed up five songwriters with someone who has personal, practice-based or academic experience of criminal justice. The five songs explore the impact of a single crime from the perspectives of victims, perpetrators and family members. This song, written by Andrew Howie with Joe Bowden, speaks from the point of view of the perpetrator, shortly after release following 2 years imprisonment.
The five songs were performed at a concert at the Briggait in July 2014 with a house band featuring Susan Appelbe, Lucy Cathcart Frödén, Martin Cathcart Frödén, Kim Edgar, Andrew Howie, Yvonne Lyon and Rachel Sermanni. This is a live recording, taken from that concert.
