Life Under Observation (single version)
This song was written over 4 weeks by a very small group of people with and without experience of the criminal justice system. We explored song writing exercises collectively, that shared real experiences of what life’s like after prison. We discussed how freedom doesn’t always feel free. The constant social work meetings, strict licence conditions, the pressure to prove you’re doing okay, and the fear that any small mistake could send you back to prison. These conversations became lyrics. The feelings behind them shaped the music. Life Under Observation is about that invisible weight people carry after release - the kind you can’t see, but that affects everything.
