Don’t Make the Same Mistakes
A song from dad to daughter...
In Tune includes sessions that support imprisoned parents to write songs to their families. What they choose to write is completely up to them. Some write songs that might help support their family at home to get every day tasks done (such as Bathtime Baby – we absolutely suggest giving this a listen!), some write lullabies to help bedtime and have their voice be part of that despite separation, and others write songs of memories and hopes.
This song, ‘Don’t Make the Same Mistakes’, written by a young father in HMP&YOI Polmont, explores a dads hopes for his daughter and supporting her into a positive future.
Written in HMP&YOI Polmont with Grace Dale and supported by SPS Parenting Officers.
